Friends, three of the recipes in this week’s plan went up on the blog in the last few weeks and I’ve already been making them on repeat. The Sizzling Ginger Scallion Sea Bass is one of the most recent creations that you need to try if you haven’t yet! My name is “KaleJunkie” so salads are kind of my thing. I know it sounds obvious, but I actually really love salads. I don’t eat salads to fit in my greens or because I’m “supposed” to eat them. I eat them because I crave them.

I love them so much we’ve crossed into double digits when it comes to the different variations of crispy salads I’ve created now. And no, I won’t be stopping anytime soon.

What I’ve learned over the years of creating salad recipes is that the ones people really want to eat have a few things in common: something crunchy or crispy, a dressing that’s good enough to pour straight into your mouth, and enough going on that it feels like a real meal.

Here are some of my favorite salads in one place—several of the crispy rice salads that have collectively hit over 100 million views, the copycat restaurant salads I make at home to avoid a $25 price tag, and a few others that have been on rotation for years.

Whether you’re looking for a meal prep lunch or a salad that can hold its own at the dinner table, save this one.

• A good pair of tongs. For flipping, tossing, and assembling without making a mess.

• A mini blender. This is non-negotiable for me. Every dressing on this list comes together in a blender. Whisking in a bowl works, but blending gets you that creamy, emulsified texture that makes a dressing actually cling to the salad.

• A good baking sheet (plus parchment paper). The crispy rice requires this. A sheet pan that heats evenly and a sheet of parchment so nothing sticks.

• A salad spinner. A quick spin and everything stays crisp and coated.

• A mandoline or sharp knife. For the cucumber salads especially. Thin, even slices mean the dressing soaks into every bite.

• Meal prep containers. Most of these salads hold up great in the fridge for days — as long as you store the dressing separately. Having good airtight containers is a must.

In this Crispy Rice Steak Salad with Thai-Inspired Dressing, it sits on top of crunchy cucumbers, fresh herbs, salted peanuts, and crispy chili-sesame rice, all finished with a tangy Thai-inspired dressing with sriracha and lime.

I will be direct with you: this is my favorite salad recipe in the entire world. I cried when I nailed it. The Hillstone Macho Salad is the reason I will drive into San Francisco, but this copycat version is the reason I don’t have to. Romaine, grilled chicken, crispy cornbread croutons, avocado, black beans, corn, and a dressing that is life-changing.

The other Hillstone salad—the Emerald Kale Salad—that I refuse to pay $25 for when I can make it at home. Dino kale and green cabbage massaged into submission, tossed with an abundance of fresh herbs — cilantro, mint, green onions — salted peanuts instead of croutons, and a tangy homemade dressing. It’s herbaceous and bright and so satisfying.

This one is from my cookbook, Love to Eat, and it’s exactly what it sounds like: a crazy good Italian chopped salad that comes together in ten minutes. Salami, chickpeas, kalamata olives, diced tomatoes, cucumbers, parmesan, and a creamy dressing that coats every single ingredient. Crispy baked quinoa instead of rice, served on a base of sliced Persian cucumbers with chickpeas, feta, green olives, fresh mint and dill, pistachios, and a creamy tahini balsamic dressing. This Crispy Quinoa Cucumber Chickpea Salad is light, bright, and the perfect lunch salad that doesn’t require any extra protein to feel complete. I’m going to say something that might be controversial. I actually really love spring cleaning. Like, I actually look forward to it. I’m also the kind of person who loves Mondays, so maybe that tells you everything you need to know about me, but there is something about a fresh start that I find so energizing.

The idea of going through every room, getting rid of what no longer serves you, putting real systems in place, and coming out the other side with a home that just feels lighter and more intentional? That is my idea of a good time.

I don’t do it all in one day. I spread it out over a few weekends, tackling one room at a time so it never feels overwhelming. And I go into each room with the same approach: purge first, then organize, then clean. In that order. If you try to organize before you purge, you’re just moving clutter around. And if you clean before you organize, you’ll be cleaning around things that shouldn’t even be there.

I’m a systems person—everything in my house has a place, and when it doesn’t, that’s usually when things start to feel chaotic. Spring cleaning is my annual reset to make sure those systems still make sense, get rid of what’s expired or outgrown or just unnecessary, and set myself up for a smooth few months ahead.

Below is my room-by-room breakdown, with everything I use and love linked. Whether you tackle it all in one weekend or chip away at it over a few weeks, this is the list I’d start with.

The bedroom is where I start because it sets the tone for everything else. A clean, organized bedroom affects how I sleep and how I start my mornings, and since I’m up at 5am most days, a calm space matters.

What to purge: Anything on your nightstand that doesn’t need to be there. Old magazines, cords that don’t belong to anything, products you don’t actually use. Check under the bed too—it becomes a catch-all over time.

What to organize:

• Nightstand organizer (or drawer organizer) — keeps the surface clear

• Under-bed storage bins — flat, lidded, and perfect for off-season items

• Linen organizing bags — I store sheet sets inside one pillowcase so everything stays together

What to clean:

• Wash all bedding, including the duvet insert if you can

• Flip or rotate your mattress

• Wipe down baseboards and ceiling fan blades (the most forgotten spots in every room).

This is the space that takes the most time but gives the most satisfying payoff. I go through everything (and I mean everything) once a year.

What to purge: If you haven’t worn it in a year, let it go. Be ruthless. Donate, consign, or toss. A closet with breathing room is so much easier to maintain.

What to organize:

• Matching velvet hangers — this alone transforms a closet visually

• Clear shelf dividers — for sweaters and folded items

• Labeled bins or baskets — for accessories, bags, seasonal items

• Drawer organizers — for anything folded in drawers

• Over-the-door organizer — for shoes, bags, or accessories

What to clean:

• Vacuum or sweep the floor

• Wipe down shelves before putting things back

• This is also a good time to assess your lighting — a good closet light makes everything easier to find

• Clothing steamer — faster than an iron and great for getting things back in shape after storage

The kitchen is the room I’m most particular about because it’s where I spend the most time. I recipe test, film, cook for the boys—it needs to work and it needs to work efficiently.

What to purge: Go through every cabinet and drawer. Toss expired pantry items, spices that are over a year old, duplicate tools you don’t need. If something hasn’t been used in a year, it probably doesn’t need to live in the kitchen.

What to organize:

• Pantry bins or baskets — categorized by type (grains, snacks, canned goods, etc.)

• Lazy Susans — for corner cabinets or the back of deep shelves

• Drawer dividers — for utensils

• Spice rack or organizer — alphabetizing your spices sounds extra but it saves so much time when you’re searching

• Clear food storage containers — organize dry goods so you can actually see what you have

• Pot and pan organizer

What to clean:

• Deep clean the oven and stovetop

• Wipe out every drawer and cabinet before reorganizing

• Clean behind and underneath appliances (yes, the fridge too)

• Wipe down the inside of the fridge and toss anything expired

Products I love:

• Airtight food storage containers — I use these for everything

• Garbage disposal cleaner

• Oven cleaner

• Refrigerator deodorizer

The bathroom may be smaller than other areas, but there’s always expired items in there and we all know it.

What to purge: Go through every product under the sink and in the medicine cabinet. Toss anything expired, anything you haven’t used in six months, and duplicates. Skincare and makeup have expiration dates—actually check them.

What to organize:

• Under-sink organizer — stackable pull-out shelves are a game changer

• Clear acrylic organizers — for makeup, skincare, and hair tools on the counter

• Medicine cabinet organizers — small bins to group things by category

• Hair tool organizer — for the blow dryer and straightener

What to clean:

• Deep clean the grout

• Wash shower curtain and liner

• Replace your shower liner if it needs it

• Clean the showerhead (a simple vinegar soak does it)

Products I love:

• Shower caddy

• Squeegee — keeps the glass doors clean between deep cleans

• Toilet cleaning tablets

An underrated room that makes your whole routine easier when it’s organized.

What to purge: Old cleaning products, half-empty bottles you’re never going to use, worn-out items, all those socks you never found the match to.

What to organize:

• Labeled laundry baskets or hampers

• Wall-mounted drying rack — saves so much floor space

• Shelf or cabinet organizers — for detergent, stain remover, and supplies

What to clean:

• Run a cleaning cycle on the washing machine

• Clean the dryer lint trap (and the duct if you can)

• Wipe down the tops and fronts of both machines

• Stain remover

• Washing machine cleaning tablets

• Wool dryer balls

A clean workspace makes a big difference.

What to purge: Papers, cords you don’t recognize, anything that’s crept in from other rooms. If your desk has a drawer, empty it completely and start fresh.

What to organize:

• Desk organizer — for pens, notebooks, and small supplies

• Cable management box or clips — cords are the enemy of a clean desk

• File folders or accordion file — for any physical paperwork you’re keeping

• Shelf or wall storage — if you’re short on desk space

What to clean:

• Wipe down your desk, keyboard, and monitor

• Clean your desk chair

• Dust shelves and any equipment

Products I love:

• Desktop pad or mat — protects the surface and looks clean

• Paper shredder — for anything you’re tossing that has personal info

• A good cleaning caddy that you can carry room to room — load it up with your supplies at the start and it saves so many trips back and forth.

• Microfiber cloths — I use these for basically every surface. Washable, effective, and you don’t need a lot of product with them.

• A cordless vacuum — for quick cleanups between rooms without dragging a full vacuum everywhere.

• Trash bags and donation bags — have both on hand before you start. The purge goes so much faster when you’re not hunting for a bag.

Friends, I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. It’s literally my job—I recipe test, I film, I develop, I cook the same thing multiple times to get it perfect. And yet, there are still plenty of evenings where I look at the stove and I just... don’t want to. I’ve talked about this before—I filmed two recipes in one day and still found myself ordering Chipotle for dinner that night. Make it make sense.

The problem is I also don’t love spending the money on delivery, and I definitely don’t love eating out of a container that’s been sitting in someone’s car. So I’ve gotten pretty good at having a back-pocket list of recipes that require minimal effort, minimal cleanup, and still taste like something I actually want to eat.

Save this one for the next time you open DoorDash, stare at it for three minutes, close it, and open the fridge instead.

• A good skillet or cast iron pan. Most of these recipes live in one pan on the stovetop. A heavy-bottomed skillet that holds heat well makes a real difference — especially for the salmon, the dumpling skillet, and the chicken dishes. If you don’t have a cast iron yet, it’s worth the investment.

• A large pot with a lid. For the chicken broccoli alfredo and anything where pasta and protein cook together.

Friends, getting back outside and firing up the grill is one of my favorite things to do as the weather warms back up. I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it—grilling is one of my favorite ways to cook.

I have a Weber Searwood XL 600 Pellet Grill that I am a little obsessed with. It’s been such a good investment and I use it constantly once the weather cooperates. If you’ve been on the fence about grilling more, this is your sign. And if you already grill all the time, this list is going to give you some new things to put in the rotation.

I put together my favorite recipes to come off the grill — skewers, chicken thighs, salmon, and one side dish I am always craving. There’s something here for everyone, and most of them are very low effort.

• A good grill (obviously). If you’re in the market, I cannot recommend the Weber Searwood XL enough—it’s powerful, consistent, and gives you that wood-fired flavor. For a more affordable option, any compact Weber gas grill will get the job done just fine!

• A smart meat thermometer. This one changed my grilling game. It connects to your phone so you can monitor the temp without hovering. No more cutting into the chicken to guess if it’s done.

• Metal or reusable barbecue skewers. If you’re making any of the skewer recipes on this list — and you should — reusable skewers are worth it. They flip easily, hold up well, and you’re not soaking wooden ones in water every time.

• A grill brush. The bristle-free stainless steel kind. It really does make a huge difference!

• Grill baskets. For anything small or delicate (like the corn) that you don’t want falling through the grates. A total game changer.

• Grilling mitts. You need something longer and thicker to protect your arms when you’re reaching over an open flame.
