Friends, I have a theory that the best Father’s Day is one where the dad in question gets to eat exactly what he wants and nobody makes a reservation. A really good piece of meat, something off the grill, maybe a salad that holds its own next to a steak. Maybe even a piece of something sweet for after.

I cook for the people I love, and this is the list I’d pull from to do it well. There’s something here for every kind of dad: the one who wants to fire up the grill himself, the one who wants a sit-down dinner inside with a glass of red wine, and the one who just wants the best chocolate chip cookie he’s ever had and to be left alone on the couch afterward. I get it—who doesn’t want that?!

I organized it by category to make it easy to plan — grill recipes, dinner table mains, sides, and dessert. Mix and match, make one thing or make five, but save this one before Sunday.

• A good sharp knife and a cutting board. You’re working with big cuts of meat across multiple recipes here. Give yourself the surface and the blade to do it properly.

• A good grill. If you’re in the market, I cannot recommend the Weber Searwood XL enough—it’s powerful, consistent, and gives you that wood-fired flavor. For a more affordable option, any compact Weber gas grill will get the job done just fine!

• A smart meat thermometer. Non-negotiable for the tenderloin and the carne asada especially. It takes all the guesswork out and connects to your phone so you never have to hover.

• Metal or reusable barbecue skewers. They flip easily, hold up well, and you’re not soaking wooden ones in water every time.

• A grill brush. The bristle-free stainless steel kind. It really does make a huge difference!

• A Dutch oven. Essential for the short ribs. A heavy, oven-safe pot with a lid is what gives you that deeply rich braised result.

• A large cast iron skillet. For searing the carne asada and getting that proper crust on anything you’re finishing inside.

• A large sheet pan for the strawberry shortcake!

Friends, I finally made it to Aspen for the first time, and I am still thinking about it (Good thing I’m going back very soon!) For this trip, I wanted to stay somewhere that felt iconic and Hotel Jerome did NOT disappoint. It’s cozy and luxurious, has incredible food and cocktails, next-level hospitality, and a location that puts you steps from everything worth doing.

I packed a lot into just three days, so today I’m walking you through my full itinerary, plus all of my outfits along the way (because I was really loving my fits this trip, if I’m being honest). Save this one if you’ve got an Aspen trip on the horizon!

After traveling, I checked into Hotel Jerome and immediately fell for the room. Soft, warm tones, the coziest bed I think I’ve ever slept in, and views that made it really hard to leave for dinner. It was so beautiful, so cozy, and exactly the vibe I was hoping for.

I was pretty wiped from the trip, though, so instead of heading out, I kept it simple: a drink at the hotel bar (a spicy skinny margarita, naturally) and dinner at Prospect, the restaurant right in the hotel.

I went a little all out here — two different salads, oysters, some rolls, and of course, a wagyu steak. The restaurant was easily a 12 out of 10. Absolutely no notes. If you’re staying at the Jerome, do not skip dinner at Prospect.

Day two was so perfect. I started with an almond milk latte from Felix, the coffee shop at the hotel, then went on the most beautiful scenic walk — highly, highly recommend this if you’re staying at the Jerome. Got my 10K steps in, and the highlight of the walk was actually meeting a new friend along the way.

I came back to the hotel, showered, and got ready for the day (I’m telling you, the outfits on this trip were tooooo good). Grabbed an iced matcha (because of course!) at Sant Ambroeus before heading over to Kemo Sabe to design my own custom hat.

If you’ve never been to Kemo Sabe, it’s famous for a reason. The experience starts with a little tequila tasting, then they size your head for different hat styles, and from there you choose every single detail — the band, the feathers, all of it.

I ended up spending over two hours here because once you find your hat, the real fun (and the hard decisions) begin. My hat is honestly such a reflection of my personality. I love it so much.

From there, I headed back to the hotel for Après Tea, which was such a special experience — so many tea options to choose from, plus beautiful desserts and savory bites. I snuck in a quick nap afterward before getting ready for dinner.

Dinner that night was at Casa Tua, and everyone told me I had to order the lemon pasta with caviar on top. I did, and it was amazing. Everyone was right. Went to bed pretty early after that — it turns out a packed day at elevation will do that to you, and I had a feeling I’d be needing every bit of that sleep before day three.

I slept in on day three — the elevation caught up with me a little, and I needed the extra rest. After waking up, I did a bit of shopping around town, then came back to the hotel for a real treat: a 90-minute Hot Stone deep tissue massage at the spa.

The spa itself was so nice, and I even got to pick out a custom foot soap before my massage. It was honestly one of the best massages I’ve ever had.

After that, I got ready again and did a little window shopping before heading to dinner at Matsuhisa. I’ve dined at so many of their locations over the years, and this one absolutely did not disappoint. By the time I got back to the hotel, my belly was full and my bags were packed — the perfect ending to the trip.

If you’re planning your own trip, a few things I’d recommend: book your Kemo Sabe hat appointment and dinner reservations (especially Casa Tua and Matsuhisa) well in advance, since they fill up fast. Pack layers — the elevation means it can shift from warm to chilly quickly, even on the same day. And give yourself at least one slower morning to adjust to the altitude. I promise the extra rest is worth it.

This trip was so much fun, and Aspen completely lived up to the hype. I’m already thinking about my return trip which just so happens to be VERY soon. Friends, summer lunches feel different, right?! When it’s sunny and hot, I want something I can make fast, eat with my hands, and maybe even enjoy outside. A wrap, a sandwich, something handheld—that’s the type of summer lunches that I really love.

I’ve been on a bit of a wrap kick lately—partly because I really love them and also there’s just a lot of fun and creative things happening that involve swapping out the bread entirely. Watermelon as bread? Check. Pickles as bread? Check. Cottage cheese as bread? Check.

But don’t worry—there’s some actual bread in here too, including a Kimchi Grilled Cheese and some of the most delicious Pulled Pork Sandwiches. These are ten of my favorite lunch ideas that I think you should make this summer.

Summer with kids can be a lot. I love it, yes, but it can still be just a lot. The boys are home more and they are hungry basically ALL THE TIME. Are all of us parents spending a large portion of our time just trying to keep them full between meals?!

What I’ve figured out over the years is that the best kid snacks have a few things in common: they’re easy to make, they don’t require a lot of ingredients, and they need to actually taste good and not just be technically nutritious. A snack that a kid won’t eat isn’t a snack—it’s a waste of time.

This list is everything I make when I want to keep them happy without just throwing a bag of chips at them. Some of these can be made ahead and put in the freezer so they are ready to grab whenever. Almost all of them take very little time to make. But all of them are kid-approved and all of them are delicious and simple.

• A popsicle mold. You’ll need one for the chocolate banana protein pops. Make a batch, pop them in the freezer overnight, and they’re ready to grab all week.

• A high-speed blender. For the shaved ice especially. Also great for any smoothie-style snacks or sauces.

• A fruit chopper. One of my favorite kitchen tools and it makes chopping the fruit for the fruit salsa incredibly fast and uniform.

• A muffin tin. Essential for the pizza potato cups. A standard 12-cup tin is all you need to get those perfectly crispy hash brown bases.

• A baking sheet (plus parchment paper). For the cinnamon sugar chips, the onion ring chips, and the pretzels. A good sheet pan that heats evenly makes a real difference in how crispy everything gets — and parchment means no scrubbing after.

• Airtight containers. A staple in my kitchen for a reason. The fruit salsa stores great in one, and the blueberry yogurt clusters and frozen grapes both need a container in the freezer to stay fresh.

Friends, I have been on a serious drink kick lately. Not just the matcha — though yes, always the matcha — but all of it. Lemonades, frozen cocktails, copycats I make at home because I refuse to spend $8 on something I can make better myself in five minutes.

Summer is the one time of year where what you’re drinking feels just as important as what you’re eating. A really good lemonade on a hot afternoon can be a serious pick-me-up, a pitcher of something cold and spicy at a cookout is just what the day calls for, a frosé by the pool is life-changing. Friends, Memorial Day weekend is one of my favorite weekends of the year. Not just because it feels like the unofficial start of summer — though that is a very good reason — but because it’s a great chance to slow down, be outside, and eat really good food with people you love. It usually means the grill is on, there’s something cold in everyone’s hand, and nobody is in a rush to be anywhere. That’s my favorite kind of weekend.

I have a Weber Searwood XL Pellet Grill that I am a little bit obsessed with, and this is the weekend I use it the most. If you’ve been on the fence about grilling more, this long weekend is the perfect time to commit. And if you already grill all the time, this list is going to give you some new things to put into the rotation.

I organized this by category so it’s easy to plan your spread: the mains, the sides, and the dessert. Everything can be prepped ahead or comes together fast, which means you actually get to enjoy the weekend instead of spending it all in the kitchen.

• A good grill (obviously). If you’re in the market, I cannot recommend the Weber Searwood XL enough — it’s powerful, consistent, and gives you that wood-fired flavor. For a more affordable option, any compact Weber gas grill will get the job done.

• A smart meat thermometer. This one connects to your phone so you can monitor the temp without hovering. No more cutting into the chicken to guess if it’s done.

• Metal or reusable barbecue skewers. Two of the mains on this list are skewer recipes. Reusable metal skewers are worth having — they flip easily, hold up well, and you’re not soaking wooden ones in water every time.

• A grill brush. The bristle-free stainless steel kind. It really does make a huge difference!

• Grill baskets. For anything small or delicate that you don’t want falling through the grates.

• Grilling mitts. You need something longer and thicker to protect your arms when you’re reaching over an open flame.

Friends, I have a philosophy about dessert that I’ve had for a long time now: all foods fit. I spent years in a relationship with food that was defined by restriction and fear, and coming out the other side of that means I truly believe in eating the things you love—including the damn cookie.

Friends, this week’s plan started with the broccoli salad, which is not how I usually build a meal plan. But I made it on a Sunday a few weeks ago just to have something in the fridge for the week and I ended up eating it every single day. It’s soooo good!! It’s basically just broccoli, cabbage, bacon, cashews, Parmigiano Reggiano, and a honey dijon dressing that I have now made several times in the past few weeks. It holds up all week without wilting, which makes it a lunch recipe that actually delivers on the meal prep promise.

The dinners are as different from each other as they could be. The Beef Bulgogi Bowls are thinly sliced steak marinated in a savory-sweet sauce, seared until the edges caramelize, and served over rice with cucumber ribbons, kimchi, a fried egg, and a creamy spicy sauce. The Sheet Pan Crunchy Penne Arrabiata is spicy, hearty pasta topped with a panko and parmesan crust that comes out of the broiler golden and crunchy. And the Spicy-ish Ground Chicken Noodle Bowls are chewy rice noodles, tender bok choy, ground chicken, and a thick spicy sauce that comes together super quick!

There’s also a breakfast and a snack in here that are so easy to make—once you prep them on Sunday you’re good for the rest of the week.
